Several people dance the streets and take part in parades wearing colorful masks and costumes. It is the period of time between Ash Wednesday and the Epiphany. Mardi Gras is celebrated throughout some parts of Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and also cities in the U.S. like New Orleans.
